Hi Eli, I just wanted to tell you that the family tree was a huge hit at Eliran's bar mitzvah. Even before the guests arrived, I found our caterer and her staff staring at the tree. When the guests arrived, they gathered around it and wanted to know who made it. Many of my relatives, including my kids, asked for copies, and I also put a copy on Facebook for the relatives who could not make it to the bar mitzvah. I am already thinking about the next version for my daughter's bat mitzvah!

We are from Australia and we found the details of 'Shorashim teud mishpachti" while searching the net preparing for our sons Bar Mitzvah. We wanted something unique to present to our family on this special occasion. From the moment we contacted Eli it was a pleasure to work with him. We were apprehensive about sending information accross the globe but there was not one time where I thought that the distance was an issue. Eli and his staff were very helpful and the culmination of six months work of collating all the information about our large families was a magnificent family tree. Each family member received an A3 size copy at the Bar Mitzvah, our relatives were awed with the enormity of the project and the beautiful presentation so beautifully put together by the wonderful team of Shorahsim teud-mishpachti. Eli, you did a great job. The Katz-Feidman Family reunion was enriched by the great family tree. Everyone was checking to which branch they belong. The grandchildren, great-grandchildren are very busy with all kinds of statistics - how many were named after whom, how many live in Israel, who lives where. No words can describe my family’s excitement when they arrived at the hall and, there in front of them, saw the framed pictorial family tree. People simply stood there, so moved that they wept. The “roots” picture you made for us was the focus of attention on the Shabbat bar mitzvah “pilgrimage” for our son. We send you our thanks, blessings and appreciation for the beautiful process and product that resulted from our family tree, produced in celebration of our son’s bar mitzvah. Eli accompanied us patiently, thoughtfully and intensively through its preparation, always paying attention to every detail. We felt that we were full partners in the responsibility of ensuring the family tree would be accurate, in terms of the information it contained, and attractive. The large picture came with us on the Shabbat of the bar mitzvah. It took family members from Israel and abroad by surprise – in fact they were moved to tears. The party and the surprise element of the roots tree we had made for our parents were wonderful! People talked the whole evening about the idea and the picture itself. Our daughter Noa celebrated her bat mitzvah a few days ago. The family tree you made for us made an exciting and eye-catching surprise for all our family and friends. Throughout the evening people came to look, reliving memories inspired by the picture and sharing their family stories. At the end of the evening we distributed miniature versions as a gift to each family and according to their reaction, it was the best gift they could have received. Dear Eli Goren, I want to express my thanks to you for the family tree that you prepared for the Shabbat Hatan held for our son’s bar mitzvah. The tree stood at the entrance to the dining room, which had been prepared for us from Friday lunch time until Saturday evening. Firstly, all the guests were totally taken by surprise, and almost everyone found themselves on the tree. Then, in the hotel rooms, all the family members found their own personal copy of the tree, which was even more exciting for them. Apart from our own guests, other Shabbat Hatan occasions were being held there and people started to come to our dining room between meals just to see the tree, and sought me out to ask how it was made and share their enthusiasm about it. Delightful, beautiful, superb!! These were the reactions we heard last night at the family bat mitzvah party for our daughter Maya. “I can’t believe it! This is the most fantastic present I ever received, tailor made just for me, with all the family names, dates and photographs of my brother Uri, my parents, the whole family. An incredible idea! The picture is gorgeous! I am speechless!” That was my father’s reaction when we gave him the family tree. In all my adult life I don’t ever remember hearing such an excited, passionate response from my father. I was so amazed by his reaction that I was simply stunned and couldn’t respond. And the rest of the family were equally keen on it too. All of them! From the calmest right down to the youngest. All of them. I stood in the center of the circle, holding the picture, for about a quarter of an hour and they simply couldn’t stop staring, commenting and being carried away. Eli, I don’t think I can thank you any more than what I described above. It was just perfect!

At Michael’s bar mitzvah celebration we placed the family tree in the entrance to the hall and it proved a major point of attraction for everyone. Naturally, it was a great source of interest to all our relatives, but to our surprise other guests were just as interested and impressed too. We spent the whole of Saturday – for the aliya l’Tora – in a hotel, where we stood the picture in the dining room, and at every meal people continued to go up to it, ask questions, express an interest and show their enthusiasm. It is obviously a product that took much thought and hard work and also a fantastic memento to be treasured by future generations too. It was quite hard for us to collect up information about previous generations, since our parents are elderly and don’t remember all the details. We hope that this unique family tree will make it easier for younger generations to continue their heritage into the future. For us, the picture is also a way of commemorating family members who died in the Holocaust and were killed in terrorist attacks. Thank you, Eli, for the idea and the work, and for your kindness and patience throughout the process. When we have photographs of the party, we will send you a picture of the family with the tree in the background.

It was a real pleasure working with Eli to produce the family tree for my mother's 60th birthday. Eli sent a total of nine drafts via email until we reached the beautiful final product. He dealt with changes from three of us simultaneously and always provided the desired changes effortlessly and with so much patience. It was a lot of work for all concerned but a real masterpiece was created which my mum loved and is hanging in the dining room and will be forever cherished. I recommend shorashim and Eli Goren most highly for a project like this one
